James Suckling 92-93pts
Lots of blackcurrant and hot-stone character on the nose. Full and tannic with a chewy finish. Shows structure. Very well done.
Decanter 91pts
This is a little overly coffee-drenched on the attack, although I have really been enjoying the resurgence of Croizet-Bages over the last few vintages and it has become a Pauillac to watch. Once the attack subsides, this is tight and deep with intense black fruits, juicy on the finish. A good showing.
Jancis Robinson 16.5pts
Very ripe cassis. Cool finish. Not too much heart and soul and a bit austere on the end but very correct and very bordelais.
Neal Martin 89-91pts
The 2016 Croizet Bages has a clean and well-defined bouquet with tobacco-tinged black fruit, conservative but nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm and grainy tannin. It displays some elegance towards the finish, something that I do not always find in this Pauillac growth and it may well mature into a fine, probably earlier-drinking 2016 compared to its peers. But there is a sense of style in situ.
